  Jim Warren

  Executive Director

  Jim is the Executive Director of Radical. He also serves on the Board at Radical. Jim and his wife Betty are active members at The Church at Brook Hills. They lead a thriving small group and have led mission teams to Peru for the last several years. Jim is the former CEO and Managing Director for Warren, Averett CPAs in Birmingham. Jim oversees all of the business affairs for the ministry and leads in fulfilling the vision and purpose of Radical, as set forth by Dr. Platt and the Board of Directors.

  Cory Varden

  Executive Pastoral Assistant

  Cory is the Executive Pastoral Assistant to David Platt. Cory and his wife Nicole have been active members of The Church at Brook Hills since 2006. He has been in full-time management for a local construction company and, in the last several years, has been simultaneously working toward his seminary degree. Cory’s role at Radical is to assist David with day-to-day tasks related to his responsibilities for Radical and many aspects of ministry at The Church at Brook Hills.

  Angelia S.

  Communications Director

  Angelia is the Communications Director for Radical. Angelia, her husband, and their two girls, have been active members at Brook Hills for almost 12 years. They lead a small group and travel as a family each year serving in short-term missions. They are currently working with their friends serving in Latin America. Before coming to Radical, Angelia worked on staff at Brook Hills for almost 10 years, where she most recently served as the Media Director. Angelia manages public relations, web, social media, resources and production projects for Radical.

  Melanie Smith

  Executive Assistant & Office Manager

  Melanie is the Office Manager for Radical and also serves as Executive Assistant to Jim Warren, Executive Director. Prior to coming to Radical, Melanie was an Executive Assistant at Warren, Averett CPAs. Melanie actively attends The Church at Brook Hills with her family.

  David Burnette

  Writer/Editor

  David is a writer/editor for Radical. His roles include writing and editing biblical resources for the ministry, contributing to the Radical blog, and providing theological oversight to the content of the ministry's resources. He and his wife Becca have been married for 5 years. They have a son, Sam. David is a PhD student in New Testament at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He and his family recently moved to Birmingham where they attend the Church at Brook Hills.

  Brooke Miller

  Ministry Assistant

  Brooke serves as the Ministry Assistant for Radical. She and her husband Josh are active members at The Church at Brook Hills. Brooke most recently served on staff at Brook Hills as the Short-Term Missions Coordinator. Brooke’s primary role at Radical is to assist the Communications Director with resource management, web maintenance, and general day-to-day tasks. She is also a contributor to the Secret Church blog.

  Jonathan Lenning

  Office Assistant

  Jonathan serves as the Office Assistant and Customer Service contact for Radical. He assists with customer service inquiries, purchases, and assists with many other administrative ministry activities. Jonathan and his wife, Catherine, recently returned from serving in an orphan home in Uganda for two months. They are active members of The Church at Brook Hills.
